Project Description
Hong Kong station is a station of the MTR metro system in Hong Kong. It is the eastern terminus of the Tung Chung line and Airport Express. The station provides an in-town check-in service for flights departing from Hong Kong International Airport.
Hong Kong station sits underneath the International Finance Centre (IFC) and is connected to Central station by a pedestrian subway. The tunnels, which cross under Connaught Road Central, are equipped with moving walkways.
Scope of Works
Construction of foundations and retaining structures incorporating a circular cofferdam (diameter 61.5m) for One International Financial Centre (1IFC). Foundations include barrettes, while retaining structures include diaphragm walls. The works also include deep compaction of sand fill by vibroflotation method. 
– Barrettes: (a) 0.8m to 1.5m thick, (b) excavation area 31,130m2
– Diaphragm walls: (a) 1.2m & 1.5m thick, (b) excavation area 81,422m2
